Hello all. The Junkman cometh.
« on: April 28, 2014, 01:12:13 AM »
Hi.

I'm glad I was accepted into your club.  I've ben at the terrain game for about 14 years.  Over the past five years or so my style has developed into using everyday items such as floppy disks, VHS tapes, audio cassettes, etc and my taste in miniatures has moved from fantasy to Fallout, Judge Dredd, Necromunda and similar grimy looking games.

I have made my living primarily through terrain and hand sculpted 28mm items reproduced in resin.  That being said, I have lived in a gaming bubble for nearly half a decade.  In the past five years I can count my tabletop gaming experiences on two hands.

On top of that I've been doing my work and just selling at conventions for almost twice as long, never had a blog or anything like that.  People keep telling me I should have a website or what not but unless I can do it with a light table, a sharp knife, and a Heidelburg press I tend to take forever getting comfortable with it.

I've spent the last three years just creating, selling and drinking (a lot).  I bought a house with a spare room just so I could have a devoted workroom, and that's the only room I've really used, sleeping on a couch in the workroom instead of using the bedroom.

I also tend to drone on and on.

Thanks for having me, Ladies and Gents.  I hope to contribute something useful.

I'll make a proper thread later today but I have an article over on the Combat Zone Chronicles. http://combatzonechronicles.net/cozoxd/angryarms.htm

I'm still going to have to look up how to merge a ling with plain text, how your forums handles picture uploading, etc.

Like I said, sometimes I am totally lost when it comes to functioning electronically.

(Oh, I found the image button.  I guess I have to put them into a photobucket or something first.  I guess that's what I'll be doing today.)

Welcome to LAF Stompa_Guy.

May you have a long and merry stay with us.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

I'll try and start a thread today with some work.  Having to externally host th images, which honestly is the best way to work for a high traffic site, deters me.

I hate fiddling with interfaces and uploading garbage and everything is so unorganized.
Uh.

But we'll try.

For the five of you that gave a damn we'll try.

Fingers crossed.

You definitely get more responses to pictures of your work.  :)  The the workbench section has a how to board you might want to post too as it sounds like your into building terrain.

I'm uploading pictures now.

I did post a link to an article that was piblished in the Combat Zone Chronicles but I think veryone missed it.

Anyhow, thanks for the response.  I would lov to sya that I always make things for myself, and I tend to, but th only way it gets sen online is when pople like you tak the couple of seconds to respond.

I'll figure out where the hell ever I can post poast apoc/Judge Dredd stuff here and once the photos are in a photobucket I'll gogogogogo!

Here it is again.

Putting up some posts now, starting with a Dredd conversion in Future Wars, which is where I assume Dredd goes.

I absolutely love that you claim VHS tapes, floppies and audio cassettes as 'everyday' items. Each one obsolete and increasingly hard to find! Not teasing you at all... I bought two audio cassettes this afternoon!
