Nice. Your Reclaimed Rohirrim made me finish painting my MEstarter Rohan :)

Saga is one of the option I am looking at as my friends dont want to play ME (but I still hope to force them to play Battle companies)

Before Age of Magic, we actually used SAGA for playing games with LotR minis, simply using appropriate battleboards for the factions on the table.

Age of Magic kind of 'legalizes' the use of fantasy minis, though, which makes it easier to persuade diehard fantasy fans to play.  ;)

Ive never played a lot of fantasy to be honest, but LOTR minis were cool and dirt cheap before the reboot... so Ive bought few there and there for almost nothing.
And then reeboot came and starter box with te rules and lot of mini was too good occasion to pass.. so I have workable Mordor army and some Rohirrim to face them
(and then some Dwarves as they were easiest Battle company to build from one box.)
Slippery slope..  :o

And Ive always wanted to try Saga.
Ive actually have Viking army built for it but It only seen Lion and then with additional Wulfen Dragon Rampant

SAGA is a nice game, relatively fast-flowing (depending on, whether you can decide where to put your SAGA dice on the battleboard), and relatively simple (don't be fooled by the size of the rule book, the same rules are more or less repeated a couple of times (for shooting and charge/melee), and a good chunk is about how to build your warband (which can be done in 3 min.), and the orders phase (how to generate, roll, and place SAGA dice).

I have loved the game from day one, but the 'historical' aspect has kept me from playing it a lot, as my formerly only regular gaming buddy is really not into historical gaming (I have picked up a couple more since then, and one of them in particular is interested in history, too, so it may change).

So jealous of your Ziterdes stuff.  It's expensive to get over here. :(

So jealous of your Ziterdes stuff.  It's expensive to get over here. :(

It was a good way to get some table-ready ruins, and it still does a sterling job filling up a table, and I am of course very happy with it, but after I got my 3D-printer I'm not buying a lot of terrain stuff any more (a lot more of my printed stuff should pop up in this thread over the summer, hopefully some of it painted).

This brave new digital world means that postage is no longer an issue for me with all kinds of things just a click and some printing time away from my pain(t) station, and I can heartily recommend getting a printer, even if you are not particularly tech-minded (it is really very basic stuff to work with). I had no previous 3D experience, and I have not only printed free stuff found on Thingiverse, and some files purchased from beefcake, but also designed and printed a few pieces of my own (card deck holders, sewing machine spool holders, and a divider insert for the boxes I store my paints in), and I am going to design a piece for fitting a drainpipe to a pallet tank (to collect rain water), so only the imagination (and build plate size) sets the limit for what to use a printer for.

Nice battle report on the Saga Magic game.  That was one game system that never could get traction in our group. Not sure why as it doesn't require huge numbers of figures.

I am working on a 'small' project, destined to become an entire campaign, at the moment

Couple more pics and details on my blog (although nothing really solid - no pun intended):

Thanks, I shall try to keep the project moving forward, although it seems that I shall have very limited hobby time the next couple of months (I am taking classes to get up-qualified for working in a new area, and I leave at 7:15 in the morning and return home a 16:00 in the afternoon, which leaves me only 1½ hour for walking the dog, and taking a shower, before cooking for supper, and then I have to find and apply for 1-2 jobs every week to stay qualified for unemployment payment, and I also want to spend some time with my family (especially those nights when neither of my daughters are away for sports or other leisurely activities).

As soon as I find employment, I can channel some more effort into getting minis and scenery ready for Frodo's Quest, because I shall not have to spend time writing job applications on top of being away all day.
