...I am very much considering shortening the thing a bit tough. Maybe if the barrels ended roughly at the nose that would improve the looks a bit? What do you guys think....

I've already bought one after seeing your topic, but I guess I'll just remove the gun altogether. I guess I can use it on one of my mechs  ;)

It plugs in rather easily, and pops out fine as well so you can pretty much switch it on or off as you like.

If people here are buying this thing and keeping the gun of my suggestion of pair of guns under the wings might actually be possible if one can find somebody willing to part with his BFG.  lol
Heck at a fair price I might want to get another one of these things.

Brainwave. The corp that makes this kit also has an extensive line of optional weapons and modular "not gundam" kits. I am pretty sure all of those use the same size peg as the weapons on this one, so browsing that for an alternative might be worth it. Tough from memory I mainly recall hand held weapons for robots. So you would be switching the oversized Gatling out for a oversized bazooka or assault rifle. But I'm not that deep into their stuff so there might be more options that are worth looking at.

I bought the same chopper ages ago, was on sale and reminded me of the choppers from Patlabor 2. The crazy big gun kind of makes sense if you think it's for hunting Gundams.

thought I did a post about it too

Hmmm, after reading your post, I wonder if you did replace the rockets with the 1/48 ones?
