He had a way of scrapping on screen like he was in a pub fight; I loved the way he'd grab someone, growling "Cam 'ere!" and then batter them. A great actor, sadly underused, and you got the impression he was a top bloke too.

Terrible news. Such a great actor. Who framed Roger Rabbit is the first that springs to mind for me.

That end scene in The Long Good Friday ...

He seemed like a top bloke

Great actor, no matter how small a part he was playing. RIP Bob.

A Bob Hoskins mini for gangsters or Pulp would be a nice tribute. Everything I've heard about does indeed suggest he was a top bloke. Such a shame.

A 'Diamond geezer' indeed. He'll be sadly missed.  :(

Almost bumped into him in Newcastle in the early 80s. He had a top coat on and looked just like Harold Shand. Class actor will be sadly missed. THE CID.

"Mona Lisa" was the first movie of his that I saw. He was fantastic in that flick.

I really liked Bob Hoskins, and in many ways he reminded me of Ed Asner and vice versa.  Very sad news..... :(
