Khurasan releases Shady Characters Set 1

We are very pleased to release our latest set of DPLS passengers, Shady Characters 1.

DPLS (dual purpose light spacecraft) captains are not particularly fussy about whom they carry from one star system to the next.  Often the passenger compartments are filled with bounty hunters, but just as often it's the fugitives they are hunting who are the passengers (although hopefully not at the same time!).  The only rule most DPLS captains have is, "no weapons discharge on the ship."

This set of alien rogues cotains three figures, Kenny the Klak, Angry Zhun, and a Nuuur Ronin.



Kenny is a Klak enforcer.  The Klaks, aliens newly liberated from Four Nations domination by the Soriog invasion, have expanded their intergalactic criminal organisation, the Klak Mafia, deep into Federation space.  The Klaks are heavily involved in drugs-, sentient- and arms-trafficking, as well as gambling, loansharking, kidnapping and murder-for-hire.  When someone doesn't honour his agreement with the Klak mafia, Kenny gets on a freighter and pays the recalcitrant party a little visit.  Kenny is wanted by the Federal police as well as the local law enforcement agencies on over 70 worlds.  He is known for his flamboyant lifestyle and a particular fondness for human women, with whom, unfortunately, Klaks are able to mate. 

Angry Zhun is a powerful street fighter who is popular in the lucrative underground prizefighting circuit.  He is a formidable slugger but is infamous for employing psionic blasts and restraints, unfair fighting tactics which have villified him with some fighting fans but make him a hero to others.  His exceptional psionic ability also comes in handy when an opponent -- say, a police officer -- attempts to kill or incapacitate him, as he is able to generate a force field which shields him from attack until he can get to close range with his adversary, or escape if he prefers.  Zhun almost never chooses to escape, as he has a ghastly temper and starts (and almost always wins) fights for even the slightest infraction.

Tribes of Nuuur, extremely tough and disciplined fighters, often relocate en masse to a foreign world in order to serve as the bodyguards of local potentates.  Their family ties, and their allegiance to their paymaster, are very strong, but if something should happen to either such bond, an individual Nuur, now cut off from lord and people, stranded in the galaxy, will wander from system to system, seeking employment as fighters.  These Nuuur Ronin are prized as mercenaries or hired muscle.  Whilst they prefer to live by their strict moral code, the necessities of life sometimes demand that they hold their breathing tubes and take the work no matter what it is.  It doesn't mean they have to like it.

The painted versions look nice, but I must say the greens do them more justice in my opinion.
