This is a model of a small hobbit village scratch built by me for my 15mm/18mm fantasy games.

You've created a BEAUTIFULLY IDYLLIC scene. The Village& surrounding countryside are WONDERFULLY detailed. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks. My terrain boards were built/started about 10 years ago and i nearly sold them a couple of times but decided instead to just keep on improving them. Re-done the river 2 years ago and deeped it with more resin last year. Always adding more vegatation. Going to re-do the hills next so they fit into each other better for storage.

Very idyllic scene and surely a beautiful table to game on. I like that it all looks organic and the transitions between the different forms of vegetation are smooth. The Hobbit dwelling and miniatures look very atmospheric and seem to be nicely painted up. I would like to see some close-ups to be able to appreciate these elements more.

If I would suggest anything to improve an already excellent gaming board, I would recommend to lightly drybrush the gras with a beige, followed by a coat of matt varnish, just to eliminate the shine of the static grass completly and add more variation to the grass. Quite good is also a very fine coat of brown spray paint, to fuse the different kinds of gras together and dull the colours slightly. There is also a technique using washes to add colour variation: .
