Seeing the new Wood Elf releases by GW I remembered some of mine painted some time ago and thought to share the pics with you.

Really good old school stuff. I spot two generations of citadel, a grenadier hawkrider and some Heartbreaker elves.  8)

They look good. In the last picture the middle elf, where's the shield from? It looks much better then the shields they had originally on them.

They look great. Much better than the new stuff I think. These guys look just... more elvish!

I am the complete opposite. While some GW stuff can look a bit toyish, I think the new plastics outshine these old figures, which look a bit clunky and crude. Check out those eyebrows in the last pic.  lol

I... Really do prefer the newer stuff to be honest, but I have to say that you've done a lovely job with these.

Also, I feel I should add: the chariot steeds are great models, as is the dragon (I have that one!). The elf on the eagle is in a great pose, but the sculpt is pretty chunky - the eagle's not in a great pose either, but I guess that being metal, the wings and such could be bent a bit to give the bird more "life"?

Anyway, good job as I said before, and I hope we get to see some more... Please? ;)

Thanks for your comments,

yes it is a Mithril shield and the eagle rider is an old Grenadier Copplestone sculpt. As I didn't like the original mounts I chose this older citadel eagle. There are e few different ones and this has spread its wings to a gliding position I think.

All these paint jobs are about 20 years old, and when every once in a while I shot some pics of my newer stuff (Wargods and Napoleonics) I take some pics of old stuff too (and there is a lot!) check out my URL...

cheers Thomas

Excellent stuff. The old forest dragon is a great model for me, one of my favourites from the GW line.

I caught a glimpse of the new elves and got to admit they are detailed and nice to look at,the old citadel miniatures have a  charm, and are certainly worth collecting.
I also like the elves from the warploque  range .
