Panzer VIIe "Säbelzahntiger " **FINISHED PICS** added
« on: July 13, 2008, 03:40:44 PM »
I've just completed doing the "Basic" paint work for my Weirdwar German Super tank.
It is the Panzer VIIe "Säbelzahntiger" ( Saber-toothed Tiger), it's name derived from it's Long Fangs (twinned 128mm cannons).
All it needs now is some weathering and a coat of matt varnish.

I started a new post rather than "Re-vive" the older one of its build up which can be found here:

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work; I want to achieve immortality through not dying.

Scary, old chap. Keep going. Will be great use to keep away that TMP mob with the pitchforks and torches when they come for you.

Interesting! You might want to add a couple of ladders, though.  It's a long way up without an ice axe and crampons!  :D

Thanks for the comments!

I thought exactly the same thing. If you look at the back of the tank in the first picture you can just about see a ladder to get onto the rear deck.  :D

Now that's some great Weird WWII kit!  Dual 128?!  That will ruin your fresh OD paint job real quick.

Great stuff,
Brian

Here's the completed Säbelzahntiger ( although it could do with a pintle mounted MG!!)
It's a little shiny as the varnish isn't quite dry.

I had a bit of a nightmare with the decals as some of them came off when I was handling it ( I had to repaint the damaged bits by hand, what a pain!!)

Hope you like it.

I love it. And I´m afraid I´ll have to buy a 1/35th scale King Tiger to build a "Mammutpanzer" myself.

After Geuden's thread I want to see the recovery vehicle.  ;)

Really, I would expect something this huge to be taking refuge in tunnels like the German guns at Anzio.

That's another awesome vehicle mate, I'd like to see the face on the traffic warden trying to give it a ticket lol lol
There's one thing missing though....................the steam boiler.   Ah wrong section lol
The Weathering really sets it off a treat, Grrrrrrreat job.    (That's the next up from Well Done)

Rudi, Pappa usually uses the force but when he's tired he has to join us mortals and paint by hand lol lol
