Eureka French Revolution compability
« on: May 06, 2014, 11:17:32 PM »
Hello to everybody
i'm new to this section of LAF ..i'm Pier from Italy .i usually collect, play and post topics on Colonial but..my other passion is French Revolution...i own quite a few minis..majority of them from Mirliton, Charriot, Dixon, Foundry and the beautiful less known and difficult to purchase French firm called Touller ...my main interest among this period are Italian Campaign in the Centre/South (Frrench Vs Neapolitans and Pontifical) and the Wars in Vendée...(Vandean and Chouans rebels are beautifully represented by the above mentioned Touller Figurines)
while surfing on this section posts i discovered that they are some experts on this period that have acquired and posted nice picts also of Eureka French Revolution minis..they seem very tempting but i'm afraid that they could look huge close to my collection from the above mentioned manufactures..did somebody have a comparison pict?...and what are your opinions?
thanks in advance
Pier

Hi Pier,

I apraoched it from the other end and went with Eureka in the first place.
Beautiful sculpts all of them and not overly tall. Slightly smaller and slenderer(is that even English?) that the Paul Hicks figures he did for Brigade.
Alain's figures are quite slender so I wouldn't put them in the same unit. The again you could but the AT Vendeens together and the Eureka Republican troops in their own units.

Panic, Chaos and Disorder. My job here is done

It's not a proper comparison shot, but you can see from the photo here that the Eureka troops, at the back are quite a bit taller than the mostly Foundry civilians in front of them:

(Individual photos on the page before that).
Back from the dead, almost.
