Hi Mitch -Thanks - I agree - I have yet to get the cattle off the board in this scenario, but that's what the dice roll was so I went with it. However, the British suffered so many casualties trying to stop the raid that they gave the Picts a free month of unopposed raiding so it might have been a better strategy just to let them have the damn cows?
Cheers
Norman
In my case I wasn't helped by the fact that the dice roll put me with ONE unit between the Saxons and the cows, and I tried a big act involving a Carpe Diem, Hero of the Age, Aggressive Charge and A Strong Arm. Which worked well up until the point when I didn't kill the Saxons in one go and they beat me hollow afterwards
My opponent this time decided that it wasn't worth getting massacred for three wagons of beans, bacon and beer, so maybe you're right and this discretion thing is the way to go with raiding.
Well it's fun anyway, isn't it? I really must get my Picts on the table!
