Paul Bonner's Trolls of Trudvang.
« on: May 12, 2014, 04:10:59 PM »
So, over the last year or so I've been busy talking with fantasy artist Paul Bonner and Swedish games makers Riotminds to produce a sculpt based on artwork done for the RPG Dragons and Demons. I brought along sculptor Roberto Chaudon, and the result is the following set which will be the main even in a Kickstarter launching on Thursday 15th May!

I thought I'd best do something, so I did the painting on the pics you see below :)

Hope you like!

Cheers, Joe

The Trolls are definitely UBERCOOL...at least from my perspective. I spotted the duo over on C.M.o.N. earlier today & voted. Good luck with the Kickstarter.

This is how i picture trolls. That's a very cool sculpt and a great paint job. The blueish highlights are an interesting choice.

I love Paul Bonner, I think he's a great artist and his 40k orks are amongst my favorite art works of all time  8)

These are particulary great and visually different enough from the norm  :)

Good luck with it  :)

Smashing work there! Should go down well with us Swedes, brought up on John Bauer troll paintings. I expect Engel to be here frothing shortly. =)

And so on.

Yeah, Paul Bonner's art reminds me Brian Froud paintings too.
But that's to be expected since Froud's art seems inspired by John Bauer's :

Bauer :

Froud :

Il love these two paintings...

To stay in topic : the miniatures and the painting are great ! Really inspiring.
