Here my painted army of Chaos Renegades, the "Karnophages".
I painted it about 14 years ago. At that time I used the Alpha legion army list.
I used some cultists too and genestealers (proxies for demons). My idea it was a group of CSM with the genetic seed of genestealrs and so members of a Genestealer Cult.

I did the mistake of using a glossy protective spray over the miniatures, so some are too glossy. :(

The Magus, used with the cultists

The "Patriarch"

The ArchMagus

The Chaos Renegades

I have some genestealers and cultists too, but I didn't paint these models, so I don't include them.

I don't play to WH40k from years, so I never finished the army with the models I still have: many metal OOP genestealers and cultists with genestealer hybrids.
Maybe one day, if I will play again to WH40k I will paint these miniature and could consider to repaint the old miniatures.

I LOVE THESE!!!
 :-* :-* :-*

What a brilliant idea, great conversion work and a wonderful use of a limited colour palette.
Bloody brilliant!
  :D

That Patriarch is such a wonderfully 'active' model.
Sheer genius.

Lots to like here  :-*

I particularly like the graphic quality of the restricted palette painting, very cool.

Really nice colours. The bone-helmets really work well. Never knew one of them has a bull-head. I always thought they were too expressionist for my taste but looking at them like this the armour isn't that crazy at all, it's the mask-helmets that make them so alien.

I have a few nurgle renegades on which I should try something similar.

Thanks for the nice comments :)
I always liked the grotesque charisma of the old Rogue Trader miniatures, especially the Chaos and Genestealer Cult.  :D
Now, after so many years, I will try to paint a chaos renegade using citadel washes (I use citadel washes from 2009), the same paiting scheme but with my current painting skill, to see if the new version will be better that the old one ;) Maybe I will paint a metal OOP Thousand Sons Space Marine too  ???

A perfect example of how striking a limited pallette can be.

Very nice work and some lovely little conversions too :)

:-* lovely collection with a great colourscheme and excellent brushwork

if the gloss coat is too shiny a coat of dullcoat might help to get them matt again
