Catalyst Games Leviathan details
« on: August 18, 2008, 02:44:02 AM »
As promised I posted the interview with Randall Bills from Catalyst Game Labs where he talks about their upcoming VSF game Leviathan.

I will have better images of those concept sketches that are shown in the video soon and will post them on TGN when they arrive

Could be intersting. Do they have any more info or rumer sites I can check out or is that the only thing there is out for it right now?

This could be really good. My main two questions would be what scale and how does this differ from aeronef? If these are 1/1200 ships then they'd be amazing. Although I like most of the brigade aeronef stuff the British fleet especially never really instilled much excitement. I've ended up buying some of the Skytrex/Triton 1/1200 scale ironclads range and converting those up...looking much like these! I think going back to the look of the chunky ironclads with the sweeping bows is a great idea.

Any info on release dates?

Thanks for sharing this

This is the first and only info released about the game so far.

No firm info on a release date or a scale as of yet. As I mentioned in another topic I did suggest to them that 1:1200 would probably make a lot of people happy.

In terms of gameplay I think that the system might be slightly more commplex but they did say that they were going to focus on playability.

And a Martian invasion fleet to go with their floating arsenals would make me even happier. What good is Tesla without H.G Wells? Very nice artwork though.. It reminded me of this (sorry for the size!):

I found it here:

http://www.moddb.com/mods/iron-grip-the-oppression/news/iron-grip-artwork

Iron grip seems to be a forthcoming game set on some distant planet but with remarkable familiar weaponry which seems to span from the conquistadores through to world war 2. Have a look at this site to get the idea.

Here's a few more pics. Imagine one of these beauties in 28mm scale. Bigger table please!!

Oh, it's another computer game. I was hoping that Iron Grip was a miniatures game of some type, maybe like sky battleships or some such. It does look interesting. Kind of a WWI feel to it.
