The highest point of the vehicle side should line with the chesticles of a regular soldier standing next to it.

But hey, if it works for you...

That's the thing isn't it. I might not choose them myself, but they are after all just tokens for the real thing. It becomes relevant that most rules use shortened ranges, ground scales and often both too, so a few model inches bigger or smaller is no big deal in the final result... particularly if your figures are mounted on bases up to 5mm or more thick.

And one from Army group North:

[buttoncounting] That's actually a Carrier, Bren Gun Mk. I and not a Carrier, Universal Mk. I [/buttoncounting]  ;)

Yes, thereabouts at least and certainly no higher than the shoulder, unless the figure's nickname is 'Lofty' or something like that.  :)

Because 25 mm is too small for 1:48. 28 mm is better, but still on the wee side methinks.

People using the new miniscule perry figures with 1:48 are of course free to do so, but I reserve te right to say that I think it looks like the kids of the empire got a day out.  ;)

I agree with the 25mm scale miniatures  ;)

I think the 28mm which get larger in Heroic scale are more suited. It's always down to what people want and like the look of. I go with 1/48 as I enjoy the kit making but that is a result of the resin wargames stuff being of poor quality, mis-moulded and not enough detail for me.

I agree the main issue is suitable miniatures to mix, there is a lack of options for Tank comanders, various crews and riders. I would love to fill my Hanomags with troops. Not a problem in 20mm or 15mm.

I've found this link which compares several (all?) of the 28mm options: Tamiya, Bolt Action, S&S models, AFAD and Battle Honors.

Given some of the debate here... gives more prudence and justification for using 20mm 1/72 for wargaming WWII. Here too though is the debate between 1/76 and 1/72 and the 2 do not fit comfortably - likewise to me using 1/48 with 25 and or 28mm seems wrong... Just a thought.

Hey guys, newbie here but long time lurker, the new plastic? carrier is out for warlord and it says that it can be built as either the mk1 or mk 2, would the mk1 be suitable for 1938? (vbcw) i'm unsure if the designations were established before of after 1940.

Always had a soft spot for the Bren Gun carrier (never comfortable calling it "universal", but I blame Airfix for that ;D)

Anyways, link to Warlord Games's announcement
