Train Station
« on: June 02, 2014, 02:53:51 PM »
Sorry to be a bore, but....

I saw someone had built and painted a train station for a game on this forum, and I think it was the sarrussa precision wild west one...

Well I've got one and I was interested in seeing how this person had approached it interms of painting internally and externally. Its a super model and i don't want to wreck it with a ham fisted approach.

This would be used for both RCW/BoB and AVBCW.

A quick search has not shown me what my brain cell remembers...hints please...
Thanks
Giles

Find a link to the station you have to give a visual representation to the good folks here and not only may the original poster see it but others giving a colour scheme too, including myself. Hope this helps  :)

Check Heisler's posts, as I seem to recall him making one.

A very nice looking model indeed, looks like a very fun kit to put together too.  :)

Is this the one you saw? http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=51389.0

I glued the roof onto the walls because I found the interior to tiny/narrow to use in a game. The roofing itself was bought at warbases.co.uk

Assembly tip: file a bit of wood from the inserts that go into the platform, they can be a very thight fit (I hope you understand what i mean  :D)

Cheers,
Za

Thanks gents, that is indeed the one.
Lots of ideas.
I will probably go for the colour scheme in the first example, as this is doubling for both RCW and AVBCW (Great Western Trains) so a cream and brown colour scheme is appropriate.

That is a tempting little building, I look forward to your process. Hope you put up a station sign, I think that would finish it off nicely.

Cheers

Great job on the station, I am very tempted but it could get expensive, first the station but then I would have to get tracks to run through it and then what's the point of a station without a train so could end up spending well over than £100 on it.
