German Motorcyclists - a comparison
« on: July 23, 2008, 02:46:58 PM »
I bought the an assortment of German motorcyclists form Black Tree and Foundry to compare their scale - I was surprised how different they are. The BT BMW is large at nearly 1/48th and the Foundry Zundapp a bit small at about 1/59.  I examined the Battle Honors cyclist but it was so poorly modeled I didn't bother to build it. Could anyone share photos/observations of the cyclists from West Wind and BAM?

The BAM one is supposedly 1/56th, though I haven't checked the dimensions. I do have the BTD one as well and the difference in size with BAM is huge, no way these could be passed off as the same bike model on the same table. It's a very clean cast though and looks a lot easier to assemble (and hold together) than the BTD one.

Artizan also has one and I'd be interested to know how it scales out as it comes with various crew sets.

Although the Black Tree motorcycle is obviously larger, the crew members look about the same size as the Foundry guy, yes?

The Foundry Zundapp looks more in-scale with its rider.  Those Black Tree riders wouldn't even be able to touch the ground.

yep, the foundry model is about right, the BTD model is a monster!!

The Bolt Action model is a similar size to the Foundry model.

Hmmm...there are LAFers with flying clubs, shooting clubs, and now perhaps a motorcycle club? :D

I picked up 3 ready made BTD ones at the Bristol table Top Sale, they looked fine. Now, however, I must compare them to the Artizan ones I have yet to build (presently hiding in my pile in the shed!).
