Couple of SotTR Questions
« on: June 05, 2014, 04:52:20 AM »
Hey guys,
All my stuff is about 800kms away as the crow flies (and quite a lot further in real travel distances). I want to make a small order, and arrange for some of it to get posted. Couple of questions:

How big are Temple Squads and what are the options? I have a Midwich Cuckoo Mr. Smythe proxy from the Westwind French civvies set and he needs an escort.

How wide are the bases? Are they 25mm round shoulder or larger? Thinking about grabbing some sculpted bases, not quite sure yet though.

Templar Assault Squads have six men. One Knight (Corporal), and 5 Templar Agents (Privates). The unit is equipped with the Assault Bren. One model may be given either an Anti-Mech rifle for 1RP or a Packed Vickers for 1 RP. SoTR uses the 30 mm round DS style base (WarMachine) for standard infantry models.

Cheers for that. Just out of curiosity, what would you think would be more effective in the unit? The AM rifle or the packed MG?

the packed mg gives a couple of extra dice and the squad already chuck s out 15 dice, so its really a case of whether you want the 5 extra dice from the packed machine gun or the one dice with the vastly better killing potential if it hits

I think the temple are some of the most interesting troops and groups in the game and the guy in our group who plays them made them look the part simply by buying beret heads to replace the normal British ones

 :)

I agree with Glenn. Packed Vickers is probably the best way to go. All that fire power can be nasty. The whole squad has explosives for anti-armor. Temple conversions are easy. Start with the SoTR British w/Assault Brens, swap out the heads with the West Wind British Para heads in berets w/gas masks or just berets. Once painted they look awesome.

Cheers guys,
That was the plan for the conversions. I need to pick up some extra heads anyway, wasn't too careful looking at what I was doing and accidentally filed down the mask filter instead of the neck on one of my para heads.
