Plastic Gamezone miniatures?
« on: 06 June 2014, 06:45:58 PM »
Hi all,

I have some of the metal Gamezone Miniatures and they are pretty good.
I noticed that they have begun adding plastic figures to their range.
Are the plastic ones as good as the metal ones or.....?

I too have some Gamezone miniatures and think they are one of the best fantasy minis. At present i have no experience with plastic miniatures form Gamezone. I did not even know about it.
Reaper also have, next to their outstanding line of metal miniatures, plastic ones. And although they do have good detail some of them are wrapped. However, with a little (or more then a little) bending that can be remedied.
It will be interesting to know more about these plastics form GZ and watch what will happen.  8)

Yeah I'd like to know the quality (particularly because gamezone is producing the new Hero Quest and the miniatures are obviously all plastic).  Any input would be appreciated.

There quite a few articles on the subject, but all of them in Spanish. Take in account this new material is "plastic-resin", so it's not the same as Reaper's Bones.

This review says quality is better than Reaper Bones and the feeling of the new material is more resin than plastic. Certainly you can't see any heavily bent spear:

And here you have the official Gamezone post introducing the new material with tons of pics of yet unreleased models in the new material.

Hope it helps!

Cheers guys,

Bought some metal crossbowmen and a mix of metal and resin horsemen.
The metals I bought were crisp. Did need a little filing but nothing bad.
Not sure if I like the loose arms but that's a matter of taste I guess.

Cheers,

Those plastic figures are superb. Bestl reproduction on sharp and fine details I have seen on any restic models. Very impressed.

Judge Doug over on the Mantic forums did a little review of them here.

I have a few of their metals, and they are very nice indeed. That said, watch out as some of the proportions on some of the figures are sculpted a little wonkily and can make them seem a bit odd.
