Sorry LAF that I've been absent from the forum for so long. I've been away at school so that cut down on the amount of time I could devote to projects.
I also started a couple projects and gave up on them. I was thinking about doing a 25mm scale scifi project based off of low budget tv series but the costs went up to quickly for me to really get what I wanted built.
I then thought about making a modern warfare like project using 1/72 scale figures, which was fine but I couldn't really settle on a ruleset that had enough rpg elements for my liking on my budget. I bought a bunch of cool minis though, so I'll probably return to it sometime in the near future.
What I settled on was 15mm small scale scifi. I could buy a ton of little figures a reasonable price and still have enough to tell the kind of rpg campaign that I wanted and still have terrain, giant monsters, ships etc. I plan on making it like Star Trek or something where a valiant crew of misfits does odd jobs throughout the galaxy and avoids all sorts of space perils. Still deciding on a ruleset but there is more flexibility with the amount of figures I can get on the 15mm scale.
Also I am starting a miniatures blog where I will put up the miniature shenanigans. I plan to post some painted minis up by the end of the month.
