Essentially, yes, although you could use a squeeze-trigger instead of a finger trigger too.

In a full-size model, the draw would be too strong for the trigger, but in a scale model/pistol version like yours...? I think it's doable.

It is definitely doable, yes, but it wouldn't be a scale model anymore!

I've made a video of the working mechanism!

Of course, when i am more concentrated on the crossbow i can shoot faster.

You could combine a number of steel rulers and make a miniature leaf spring!!!
