Small nations
« on: June 20, 2014, 09:23:45 PM »
Does anyone have any idea for weird war versions of the smaller nations involved in WW2? By this I mean the nations other than Britain, Japan, America, Germany and Russia.
Thanks

The obvious are Romania and Hungary.  And both would lend themselves to vampires, of course.

Anatoli created an OOB for a weird Polish force (awesome job) that I believe can still be found on the West Wind forum. There was also an OOB created by Glenn for the Romanians called "The Lost and the Damned". I believe this can still be found there also. I have pdf. files of both, but am not sure what the rules of reposting them are.  :?

It might be worthwhile to look at those forgotten corners of the world at war in those days. Places like the pacific. Lots of islands there and Australian's could be involved in that. Another one i think is undercover operations in the Aegean. The book i have deals with the period 1942 - 1944 but that could easily be changed. Although Britain and Germany are involved it gives ample opportunity for other nationals to join. Good luck and have fun.  8)

Finland could be interesting too, they often used soviet and german equipment so you could include in their force some repainted battle suit and walkers.

There's a really good French weird wars miniatures thread on the Westwind secrets of the third Reich forum I think :)

How about Brazil? Gotta be all sorts of weird creatures lurking in the Amazon. Maybe some football (aka soccer) aces to bamboozle the Axis forces!

What about a Spanish WWW2 Force. They had plenty of practice from 1936-1939 and we're influenced by both Germany & Russia and were the testing ground for a lot of tactics & weapons. So it would be interesting to see what great & evil things they would have developed.

I have thought a few times of making a WWW2 Spanish force using the Secrets of the third Reich Germans.

Capt. E.W. Brimmage has a thread on the West Wind forum for a Spanish Army OOB. At one time, I think he had a similar thread on this site.
