Looking For The Fattest Arab
« on: June 26, 2014, 12:46:42 PM »
hey all,

I'm looking for a 28mm middle eastern gentleman to lead my forces into battle. The greater the waistline the better.

Thanks,

MM.

I think the GW Dogs of War paymaster might be the one you're looking for  :)

There's also the GW LotR Harradrim guards/thingys that might suit.

These are, no doubt, large men....but I'm looking for a chap with a truly great circumference.

He is to be part of my Tsar Wars project....Emir Muhammad Jahbah....a man so large that his enemies have cruelly nick-named him 'The Hut'....

Ta.

Google away for 'Steampunk Jabba'. There are a few good visuals out there.

I'm trying to do most of the 'baddies' in a VSF setting:
*PUN NEEDED* Alaksander (the robotic former Tsar of Russia),
Robert Fett (the cockney sellsword),
General Ivan Veers
and the aforementioned large fellow.

You need a steam palanquin to carry him around. Depending on how much money/work you're willing to put in starting points could be the GW Ogre character if you wanted him big, or perhaps better, there is a Skorne Warlock from Hordes that could work as a base. Both of which are seperate from the rest of the figure so could be available seperately from parts sellers.

So many projects..... so little time.......

Great Stuff!

That Skorne Warlock is just about perfect.

Looking at the components it looks I could just use him 'as is' and replace the weird frogs with a horde of attendants or a small traction engine.

Price is a bit much, but I'll see what ebay has to offer, and see if I cant find someone who wants some strange frogs....

I'm quite ignorant of middle eastern religious customs, but I assume some kind of headgear would be essential?

A quick look on ebay and I think this one is the cheapest. About £17/18 inc shipping as long as you don't mind ordering from the states.

I believe headgear is necessary but I'm not an expert. A google search for 'Emir Feisal' should give you a fairly easy one to copy, that would be contemporary to the time.

There is this old gentlemen from the venerable Willies range sold by Tradition -Haji Baba Barbary Coast Pirate.  The giant turban alone is worth a look.  He's 30mm, but many of today's "heroic 28mm" scale figures are really pushing that boundary.
