small unit T&T
« on: July 02, 2014, 08:06:39 PM »
I was interested in DonVoss's post re small unit T&T. Has anyone tried it for 1930's gaming? How does it work solo?
I couldn't seem to find the posts referred to in DonVoss's post by Driscoles...
Cheers
Alan

In the 30's you will probably have far more automatic weapons than in the colonial period, which can be problematic because they all add further supressed counters.
But if you keep that in mind it works fine.

good think, but a -1 on the hit-roll can solve this problem. Hitting a small group with a big gun is not so easy, so -1 is ok, I think?

I have not tried that yet, but still you have 3/4/5 shots and for a single hit (even without a wound) you get the additional markers!
I'm not that good on statistics, but probably you are right!

T&T is easy for soloplay.
Every player Plots his activation.
When you play solo your fantasy Opponent randomizes bis activation and befor the game you must make clear how your opponent would react in some situations.

Btw here is the original thread about small units.

It started with the problem: I have 15 miniatures, do I use them in 2 units or can I break them down in 4-5 units...;)

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=45024.0

I do see a problem with any weapon using multiple shots and leaving loads of suppression markers. I would just leve them out, or limit thier stats.
LMGs could be bad mantained, bad handled or the like and have therefor just 1 or 2 shots...;)

And glad to see that some people like/play small games...:)

Cheers,
Don

we played games with multiple shots weapons. I do not see a problem. They are part of modern combat. They cost some points ( if you play with points ). They can also be part of a scenario objective and they have to hit.... In our games they were not that effective as I hoped. And lots of sm will pin units which if ok for the game. Just give it a try and afterwards you can modify the rules so that they fit you best   please tell me your experience so I can make all those rules "official"   :)

I defintly will in my SCW setting.

Some kind of offial rules would be cool...:)
Just to let people know that you can start with just a few models.
Your suggetions for troop compiósition were are great help too... ;)

You are right. There Must be also a modification with the suppression. Maybe only one Marker for One Big Gun...

I wished I had more time. My daughter just broke her foot ( Sprunggelenk ) and she gets the most attention at the moment.
But I will try
