I started work on some seated wagon drivers recently, well the armatures for them at least.
I hope to have something to show you at the weekend, as I should get a chance to work on them at the end of the week.

I thought I would ask for any suggestions before I start adding details.

Legionnaire set the ball rolling on another thread with these suggestions...

Thank you. Suggestions: driver with bullwhip, farmer in straw hat/ dungarees, maybe a family (pa, ma, two children), a man in suit, woman in dress. A shotgun messenger maybe, but not necessary.

I am starting on a set of four, but should they prove popular may do more.

Any further suggestions?
EDIT 06/08/14 As the set of 10 near completion a list is being compiled of who would actually like to acquire a set for their own gaming needs.
Please comment on this thread or send me a PM if you want to be added to it.
 :D

I suppose there are only a few likely stereotypes I can think of.

1) Well dressed gentleman (hearse driver)
2) Super ragged prospector type
3) A guy riding Shotgun (literally)
4) Maybe a 7th Cavalry wagon driver?  Cavalry need baggage trains too...
5) Possibly a well-overdressed portly guy to represent a snake oil salesman
6) A well dressed lady (not driving, but sitting)

Just the usual suspects I suppose.  Heck a pack of those 6 or something similar would really interest me.

You're welcome!!!  ;)

Further to Elbows list:

1) Cowboy cook (for chuck wagon)
2) Some kind of rough neck (for prison transport)
3) If you have a lady sitting you NEED a man driving  ;)
4) Mexican peon

OK, chaps, I think I will go with the following...

1) Well dressed gentleman (suited and booted)
2) Standard catch-all pioneer wagon driver
3) A guy riding Shotgun (literally)
4) A well dressed lady (not driving, but sitting) Started
5) Ragged prospector/pioneer type  Started
6) Mexican Peon
Started

As I mentioned earlier, I have started building four of them, but as I have now finished the Nurses ( http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=39808.2670 ) I shall have a few more spare corks tomorrow so shall put another couple on those and start off with the six mentioned above.

If you work in 15 mm (or 18mm!), then I'd love to see the entire population of the wagon load of French tarts from Paint Your Wagon, driver (Lee Marvin) absolutely included.  Not quite what you're asking for, but can't hurt to ask.

And how about Lee Remick from Hallelujah Trail, both fully clothed and in her bath!

What, me, a cad!?  Whatever makes you think such ungenerous thoughts?

Well, jumping Mormon tits, Partner, come to think of it, there should be an entire range of figures for both of those movies.  Get on it Mason, or risk the fate of Partner's brother!   >:(

somewhat more mundane, a lady or two (less than lady) riding side saddle, still pretty common in the realer west than in the reeler west

Mason, you can always do some action poses too.

Passengers defending the stagecoach from an attack.

Lady in panick
Gentlemen firing pistol
Stagecoach driver wipping the horses
Stagecoach guard turning back and firing shotgun/winchester
Passenger inside firing shotgun/winchester

For a cavalry wagon of supplies you could do the same
Us cav. driver wipping the horses
Us cav. firing pistol

Cheers

You nutter!

I cant see myself ever attempting 15mmm....I just do not have the eyes for that.
Nice suggestions, even if they are a little 'specialist'... ;)

Plenty of good options there, Rui.

I shall bear them in mind if the first lot prove popular enough to make doing another set viable.

Regarding those first six options: I had started on four armatures, which are at work awaiting my return (I tend to do most of my putty-pushing during my breaks), but I could not wait, so I started working on another three at home today.

Pictures later...

Nothing to get excited about, just proof that I caved-in and started some more earlier...

I should have some sensible progress to report at the weekend.

Apart from the Mexican peon, how about a uniformed Mexican (supply wagon for raiding by Apaches, or prison guard).
Or a Commanchero with rifles and whisky - Lee Marvin as Tully Crow perhaps?
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Hey, you called me a Nutter!  Well, I'm honored.   o_o

But someone in 15 mm should do those movie's characters (and in larger scales for the 'misguided' lot).  :o
