Those are astonishing! The sculpts are good too; I'm reminded of those John Blanche concept sketches for dark trolls that were never produced:

Spectacular! It's not just the painting (which is jaw-droppingly beautiful), it's the way that you've drawn miniatures from different ranges and have made them look like they are all part of the same world. I played Runequest fifteen or twenty years ago, and loved it - these wonderful miniatures are making me want to return to Glorantha! Superb.

A quick question - where does the first of the Wolf Pirates come from? (the one with the plumed helmet and breastplate?)

These are almost entirely miniatures that I'd either never seen before, never seen painted, or conversions that I couldn't recognize where all the bits were from.

I always think its really cool to see someones painting journey. Obviously some of the older posts contain older miniatures and you can see how much better you've become! You've always been good but now you've stepped it up to great!

That fella is a chop shop special. The top half is from Fenris, with his pectoral plates shaved (you can see his legs used to make one of the Lunars):

While the bottom half is from the 1st Red Box Games Kickstarter resin marauder figures. They are now available from the shop in metal, which makes conversion a bit tougher, but by no means impossible.

Thanks, Duff. I can see it clearly, now that you've pointed it out. That model is used here and there with different heads and/or weapons, or chopped in half, and it never really looks like the same model. I love the pose, and the armor - I think I'll be ordering four or five of them when (let's be honest here, it's when, not if) I start my Glorantha project.

Wonderful work on these. Beautiful stuff.

That figure's pose and weaponry was specifically designed to make customisation as easy as possible. Plus the model the figure is based on must have been a fine figure of a man, and devilishly handsome to boot.

I hadn't realized, Duff - then after reading your post, I found your "A Narcissism of Duffs" thread. Excellent, and hilarious. It's great to be able to see them all together in that thread, although it must be a little strange when you're painting them! It goes without saying, of course, that they all look superb. Excellent converting and painting. Absolutely beautiful, all of it.
