Indostan.

An exotic land of untold riches. A land culturally divided by race and caste. A land of a thousand divine religions. A land of heat, disease and death.

Indostan. A land at war.

While the remnants of the Great Gurkani Empire tosses in its death throes, a myriad of warring princely states and their private armies vie for the imperial throne. Both Britain and France, served by the British East Indostan Company and La Compagnie des Indostan, respectively, have harbored invested interests in Indostan for decades, conducting relatively peaceful and lucrative enterprise with the blessings of the last of the Gurkani Emperors. But with a war in Europe brewing and the volatile state of affairs in Indostan, each has been forced to back a royal claimant and join the war. Who will triumph in the relentless heat and claim Indostan as the Jewel in the Crown…?

It is the purpose of this post, to endeavor to gather, all of the AARs and other tidbits pertaining to our Indostan campaign, scattered all about here over the past years, into one single place. Good Plynkes has always tolerated Indostan on the Colonial Adventures board, even though the actions take place in the 18th century.
For those who have never seen our games, they are played with the Sharp Practice rules from Too Fat Lardies and take place in a fictitious 18th century India during the Seven Years War. The games are loosely bound together around the career of one, Archibald Keen, our stalwart hero.

The campaign has its own dedicated Indostan Campaign blog containing a lot of extra information about the campaign, but I always post the AARs on my Adventures in Lead blog too.

Here are the links to actual AARs we have played to date:

"1. Captain Makepeace's Daring Rescue"

"2. Keen & the Pyrates"

"3. Keen Against the Pyratehold"

"4. The Bandits of Putpari"

I will continue to list any new games played here in the future, along with relevant posts to the project.

And now for a few images from our games:

Smashing! I always enjoy your forays into Indostan. Look forward to seeing more.

And it ain't a matter of tolerating, they are most welcome. They are Colonial Adventures, that's good enough for me. :)

Brilliant! This is my idea of wargaming utopia - the AARs on your blog are truly inspiring.

All the accolades are well due, sir.  Personally, being a bit odd, I like the goats and kneeling camels best.  And as guilty as I am of verbosity, you'd think I'd be more tolerant of longer posts - but I always like short stories told in a modest number of photos, each with a brief explanatory caption.  Probably that is because I am so short of hobby time.  I guess I'll just have to return when I have more time.

Oh, and when I reached Ghonorieh, I'd had quite enough and left straight away.  Can't imagine the women in Indostan are very popular with the troops, what?

Thanks all for the nice comments and encouraging words.  :)

I'm the first to admit the "story" can certainly be a little long winded, but I kind of get carried away and well tend to dribble a bit.  ;D

I won't promise to make the reports any shorter, but I will attempt caption the images themselves next time.

I have a couple of new things for the Indostan Campaign and more waffle on the blog
.

First up are some Indus Miniatures "Peons" to serve as our native sepoys. These were a little on the thin side, but once gathered in a unit I am fairly happy with the result.

Finally some banners, if not totally fictitious, for the Brits.

And lastly more goats of course.  :D

You can never have enough goats.

Yep, or cows, or donkeys, or pigs or... :)

Cracking stuff Frank, glad to see you returning to Indostan. (As you know these were my inspiration to use SP for my Texas games.) can't wait to see some more scenarios. ;D
