Great stuff! Five Parsecs is wonderful for giving an excuse/motivation for painting all sorts of random stuff from the pile. I love the way you’re churning out all of these side projects with each crew member you do.

@Raedwald - I've really enjoyed this new approach of having a core project plus spin-offs. It's been a great way to get more figures done in a structured way that isn't just army building.

I've added another couple of figures to the current project - this time a trio of starship crew:



All three are Citadel - the two troopers are Rogue Trader, whilst the pilot is the Talisman Astronaut.

as per the comments on your blog - the white and teal combination is great. Particularly the weathered / chipped white.

and yes, those eyebrows do need separate billing - rather like Simon MacCorkindale's moustache in 'The Riddle of the Sands'.

Such an enjoyable thread. The quality of the figures and your painting has played a large part in my going 'sci-fi old school' (well, modern equivalents anyway).

@Bloggard - it is a real shame that these figures aren't available any more (and in some cases we're only available for a relatively short time). Ebay is sadly the only real option :/

Outstanding painting as always! I agree these are both silly and wonderful sculpts all at the same time. There are so many weird little details on these four, they are so suggestive of interesting back-stories.

It is however very hard to fill out the gang I've found. The Jes one-piece psykers have a similar style but are so well proportioned they tend to show up the defects of these four. I've ended up throwing my four into a Hybrid warband as brood brothers, so the odd proportions don't stand out. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for yours!
