Superb. I’m especially envious of the sculpting of the cloth; it’s really come out exactly like the classic Goodwin scavvies, skaven etc. Gives me that warm feeling  :-*  lol.
The modern plastic’s tattered cloth really looks embarrassingly inauthentic to my eye, even when painted up by the masters.
Anyway - nice one!

Thanks folks!

@Raedwald - I'm with you on the cloth - there's something about the way Jes Goodwin sculpted tattered rags that manages to be both visually effective and great to paint. I was totally copying his work by the way ;)

I'm circling back to a project from a few months back, and have finished off another pair of psykers for my psyker gang. This time it's a pair of conversions that I've built to hopefully fit in with the vibe of the Marauder Confrontation Psykers from the early 1990s:

Well of course they work! You just have a knack for finding just the right minis, with unobtrusive conversion work here and there too.

They look suitably psychic, although the dark skinned guy looks like he's breaking up an eighties streetgang fight.

I've never seen that particular mini before; is it part of the RT adventurers line?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Thanks folks!

@Daeothar - the street gang mediator is a conversion too - legs are from an Imperial Guardsman, upper torso is a Judge Dredd sky surfer :)

I see...

And that's exactly what I meant by smooth conversions...  8)

That Dogs of War Psyker is so perfect, it makes you wonder if the base sculpt was an inspiration for the psykers in the first place. Excellent work, sir!

A question for you: these are all old minis, and you've been working on this project for years now. When you figure out a conversion, do you ever get the feeling "Why didn't I think of this years ago?!" As someone else who has been expanding the Confrontation gangs with conversions, this happens to me all the time!

Funnily enough, I don't get quite that feeling, as I tend to compartmentalise the sub-projects and only start thinking about them when I fancy doing them. It's not very often when I am waiting to stumble on the right model :)

I'm not sure where this model originates (other than I bought it from the sale pages right here on LAF several years ago. He's a fun model though - let me know if you know who made him :)

No idea where he's from but I got the first few bars of the 90s X-Men cartoon theme when I saw him. lol

Excellent painting as ever.
