Thanks both. I've always preferred orks without the saturated green skin you usually see. The heavy really came about as a result of trial and error - that and a decent bits box ;)

The cool thing about terrain is that you can never have too much. Which is why I've painted another building:

I'm not sure where the original came from (if anyone knows the manufacturer, please let me know). I added the doors, balcony and other little additions.

Another good'un - looks great. I love the variety you've got in your buildings - I've been rereading the early Strontium Dog tales recently and I'm really getting a whiff of some of the settlement's Johnny Alpha visits here (which is a very good thing!)

One can never have too much terrain!

I've got a city board for 15mm skirmish with the possibility to place 22 units of terrain (one unit is aprox 98x98mm). Recently, I have been bitten by the terrain bug, and although I already had 23 or so units of terrain, I've built another 10 just for fun.

Great terrain, by the way!

Johnny Alpha hangs around some pretty isolated lawless settlements, so that works for me!

I agree Ockman - more is always better :)

My most recent painted figures are an ork boss and his grot banna waver, just in time to lead the (very small) mob of orks!

The banner grot has had a new helmet sculpted and the glyph plates added (made from plasticard).

Nicely done on the Makari conversion, and yes - I read "Bad pathetic (or 'inadequate' for a double meaning) death" too.

I've just finished painting a Chimera conversion kit from Models and Minis as a ride for my Adeptus Arbites. It's a nice kit with definitely the vibe I was after for my law enforcers!

Specifically designed to assist in situations like this!

Cool Chimera!

I love the civilian society in 40K. It can't be war everywhere, all the time. Someone somewhere must be doing other things, fall in love, get pregnant, bring babies into the world (to be put in the Imperial meatgrinder). And somewhere, someone is unhappy with their living conditions and revolts. And at that place, Arbites will be to counter that uprising. With force.

Well I'll be...  :o

I've had a converted Arbites APC on the backburner for years now. Finished in urban camo, but destined to be painted black, in accordance with the standard Arbites uniforms.

Yours is a nice piece of equipment and the nod to Mike McVey's original is obvious both from the conversion kit and also the paintjob. outstanding work (and also a really big incentive to finally finish mine!)  8)

Arbites are a really great addition to 40k I think, even if they owe a huge debt to Judge Dredd. They're really useful to bolster Imperial forces, respond to rioting civilians, eliminate nefarious cults and take down troublesome gangs.

Glad you like the APC. I admit, I was looking at Mike McVey's for inspiration on the paint scheme :)
