Thanks guys. If I did it again I might try a finer pattern...I'd need a smaller brush and a steadier hand though ;)

Impressive stuff on display here, very clever combinations.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

you win at miniatures. That is straight to the pool room stuff!

Not mine - but something I'm finding very inspirational. This is by wierdingway over at ammobunker.

In a fit of poor planning, I failed to have any figures undercoated and ready to paint last night, so instead I did some modelling work. Here's the results:

A pair of Imperial Agents / Arbites Detectives. Both based on Rogue Trader Commissars with head swaps from Citadel's very old Paranoia figures (both Troubleshooters):

Chaos Cultists for a planned Slaanesh cult. The two-headed guy is actually a Realm of Chaos era beastman. I simply replaced both hands with pistols from the Dark Vengeans cultists. The other guy is a Rogue Trader ork with a head from an Egytpian Eunuch Guard by Dark Fable Miniatures. Hopefully the paint job will tie him all together (the black against the bare metal is tricky to properly visualise I think).

Finally, some trailing cables on the horse-skulled oddity, just to reinforce the setting a bit

I also took a bunch of photos of my current models in action over the Warhammer World scenery

There's some more over at my blog  if you're interested :)

I couldn't resist a late night painting session to paint up the pair of Chaos cultists last night. Both adherents of a Slaaneshi cult called the Cult of the Silken Veil, I present Eunuch-Cultist Moktafi and slave mutant Gron-Slom:

I love this thread.
All this converting and making something original but still retaining that RT flavour.

It REALLY makes me want to start my own version.....soon.

Do, it, do, it, DO IT!  ;)

Get stuck in now and you will have something solid to get a game in at the Oldhammer event next August.  Axiom and I got a couple of games in at that this year and I hope that we will get a similar opportunity again next time.

You and your stuff would fit right in Mason, I am sure of it :) No point collecting all of those quaint old sculpts and having them languish in a drawer and I am certain that you will churn out some brilliant stuff once you start.

Do it, do it (repeat to fade)
