Pretty cool (yet again ;) ) conversion! 8)

He has a certain look over him, yes. but that little haemonculus is downright creepy! Do you know what range he was supposed to join? My guess would be the Inquisition, but I might be wrong...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Cheers Daeothar! Yep, I'm pretty sure the familiar was intended for the Inquisitorial range :)

Good stuff and no mistake :-*

I've always been fond of this Bob Olley Squat with his shuriken catapult. He's the last member of my Stargrave crew, and probably my last painted figure this year. A nice one to finish on!

He’s fab, and the crew look great together. Loved the blog post from last week too, charting yours and cheetor’s 5 Parsecs fun. Thanks for sharing.

Proper squatness  :-*

As for the shuri-cat I believe the original Eldar models (RT rulebook) used a totally different looking design, so maybe he is using an Imperial or Squat design catapult that the Eldar later adopted ;) lol

And I much prefer Eldar over bloody stoopid Aeldarii or some-such nonsense >:( :D

Another amazing thread on LAF.

Thinking of kicking off a 5 Parsecs from Home project next year and came here for ideas. This thread alone has given me more than I can handle :D ... and also pointed out a few mini manufacturers I weren't aware of earlier, so thanks for that.

One of the (many) things you do well is representing somewhat weathered or sloppily applied (in setting, I mean) industrial paint - like the broad yellow line in your most recent pictures of your own 5 Parsecs crew. Do you mind sharing a few tips on your technique?

Thanks all!

@Raedwald - glad you enjoyed the blogpost. The only shame was that I didn't get opportunity to use the full crew!

@Storm Wolf - it had never occurred to me that the Eldar might have borrowed the shuriken design lol

@Aesthete - glad you like the thread. It's fun for me to see how things have progressed over the years. As for the weathered paint, my usual approach is to paint the base colour, then to either use a stencil or mask off the element I want to paint a different colour. I either stipple the paint on with a semi-dry chunky brush or a piece of sponge :)

I converted the female navigator back in early 2019 from parts left from other conversions. I decided that she'd be a good way of kicking off 2023 as something relatively quick and also a good way of completing long-time WIP figure.

She looks spot on mate, hadn't twigged she was a conversion until I saw the WIP.

Yet another excellent conversion!

Awesome work! I especially love the tiny little navigator symbol on her sash; a lovely detail 8)
