Thanks folks!

I'm a firm believer that miniatures should be characters first and foremost, and the Colony 87 range definitely does character well. That's part of the reason why making scenic shots is so much fun - you can try and dress it with lots of "realistic" elements.

Revisiting a project from a few years ago, with two new gangers for my Helmawr gang. This pair are unreleased GW models dating from 1992, so they sit somewhere post-Confrontation and pre-Necromunda. I suspect they may have been test sculpts (they are rumoured to be by Dave Andrews).

And the pair with the other unreleased pair I painted up in 2019:

Lovely paint jobs - a great choice of colour scheme

Agreed. They could well be Dave Andrew’s work as they share some facial similarities with his Mordheim witch hunters, for example.

Thanks folks! I was hoping that the colour scheme looks suitably high class - after all, white and tan aren't the most practical colours!!

@Citizen Sade - I need to relocate at the witch Hunters. I don't think I was aware they were by Dave Andrews :)

See the 2000 Annual where he’s credited. IIRC, he only sculpted the witch hunter and cult of the possessed humans. The faces on the witch hunter captains and crossbowman, in particular, are very similar to those on your gangers.

Nice work on these: that's a classy colour scheme. I had no idea there were so many sculpts for Confrontation.

There really are loads!

Citadel released 11 techs, 18 gang leaders and fighters of various types, 3 scavvies, 1 ash waste nomad, 5 bounty hunters, 5 Bratts and 3 Adeptus Arbites (I include them as their concept sketches accompanied the White Dwarf articles).

Then Marauder released a further 20 figures (4 each of Techs, Psykers, Ash Waste Nomads, Venators and Scavvies).

Then there are the unreleased figures - 7 scavvies, 4 Helmawr gangers, 5 Bratts and a gang sculpt by John Blanche.

All of the above were sculpted between 1990 and 1992. Crazy really that they had a full range ready, but it was shelved and replaced by the Necromunda figures only a year or two later.

Crikey, that is a lot of sculpts. Was Confrontation dropped when Ansell left?

I'm not sure for certain, but it was based on Laserburn which was one of Ansell's original games, and was definitely far too complex (especially when you compare it to Necromunda).

Today's figures are a fun pair of sculpts I commissioned back in 2019 and have only just got round to painting. They were sculpted for me by the excellent John Pickford and are based on sketches I drew of some Helmawr themed characters to join the rest of the gang. Very pleased with the results!

Excellent. I didn't realise you'd commissioned figures. Great stuff.
