Claymore Castings: Early HYW Range
« on: July 23, 2014, 11:40:46 AM »
David Imrie has posted some of the minis from Claymore Castings new Hundred Years War range on his blog. So far we have a couple of crossbow men sculpted by Matthew Bickley.

Super stuff, they look like they are about to use the thing and not just pose with it :-*

Y'know, they look excellent, but I can't help but notice minis sculpted with the hand held at right angles to the arm and wince in sympathetic pain...

I don't follow.  ???

The first picture seems to be missing something. Shouldn't there be a crows foot or lever to pull the string?

Really very nice. Matthew is getting better and better. A credit to his family ;)

Inevitably one wonders how well these will fare going up against the Perry plastic HYW behemoth that will shortly be arriving, but I sense that Claymore has built a pretty loyal and dedicated following, so I'm sure they'll sell well enough  :)

If you read David's blog you will see that the crossbows are not yet finished.

Me too. nothing wrong with those sculpts either in appearance nor terms of date (ie Early HYW).

Lovely stuff both David, Andrew and Mathew!

I saw them in the round the other week when I was down at Matt's and they are really nice. Sculpting since he was 13 he really does cut the mustard in my view, though I am a tad biased perhaps... ;)
