Great painting.  Who makes the goats?

Thanks, the goats and quite a few of the other animals were from Mega Miniatures. The owner has sold off most of his molds though, so I'm not sure who currently has them.

Rough anti-goat crowd here on the LAF  lol

Astute detectives may have noticed the top right compartment in my first picture contained some figures that didn't get the attention they deserved- until now, that is.

Unfortunately, War in 15mm beat me to the punch by about a week- his excellent Darkest Africa pictures contained some of the very figures I was just putting finishing touches on :)

I wasn't excessively enthusiastic about painting them because of their sketchy anatomy but like many things they look pretty good after being based. My Dullcote has failed me and left them with a satiny finish instead of the matte I expect.

These figures pretty much finished off the container, although I have a chapel started along with a few bare metal figures that will end up as 'White Father' missionaries. So, there may be one or two more updates :)

They certainly do.

A quick question (probably not the first time....sorry): What is it that you have used for that long grass?
It looks fantastic.

I used some sort of plastic aquarium plant, small fish breeding grass.

If I recall correctly I took out the centers and inserted another plant, and used the centers as smaller tufts. I then sprayed them with a couple colors of spray paint. I made them quite a while ago and didn't take WIPs, and my sieve-like mind forgets how I did things :)

Next time I set up for photos I'll take some shots of the grasses.

Thanks, Doc!
They look great and the tip off with the packaging will certainly help.

Dr Mathias, the slaves and slavers are wonderful.  I also want to say that I love the chickens... they are great! And thanks for mentioning my Darkest Africa Gallery.  Much appreciated.  Richard

Thanks for the compliments gentlemen :)

I've managed to finish the roof on a chapel I've been working on. It will be the center of a mission station run by White Father missionaries in Central Africa games. I still need to make a little cross or crucifix for the wall (not to mention convert some White Fathers :) )

I also started a watchtower to go with my mud brick walls.

The livestock are a nice touch.  I particularly liked the chickens.

Excellent continuation  :)

I don't think the satin detracts from the figures that much, it is warm in the jungle and I would imagine that the overseers might not let them rest that often  ;)

cheers
