Steel fist brass nobori and new transfers.
« on: July 29, 2014, 12:55:59 PM »
I have been racking my mind ages to find a solution to make realistic samurai flags. White metal either looks like a beam or is to brittle, also you cannot get realistic length. Another reason is when you apply transfers, they look flat but the flag has creases which is not right.

So I'm pleased to announce the release of these new brass flags that come in two sizes, first long nobori, and second large heraldic rectangle for daimyo o uma jirushi. As you can see I have assembled one, and in the coming days will paint one apply transfers, and then put folds in it. I will be uploading them to the website later they are £2 each. However they will come with the nobori pack now instead of white metal. So now you should be able to make very realistic samurai standards

Also here are pic of the new decal sheets

Are you going to include the rods for the nobori in the pack? Just kind of curious there for how much work would need to be done there

No because the rods are expensive, but there is not much work really just fold it around a steel pike first secure the top and bottom the work you way down the rest of the appendages that way it stays even. I did one in 10 minutes. I do have some 120mm rods separate on the website but they are £1 each because I only have a small stock, and then people have the choice of buying them or using their own pikes.

Actually I don't think it's much extra work really as once you have spent ten mins making it then you just treat it like a normal flag.
Cheers

Yeah it's an extra ten mins, not a great deal of extra work but I think it's worth it for the results.
