Running and Moving into Contact
« on: August 05, 2014, 03:39:22 PM »
Hello everyone!! I have a serious doubt about these two rules, you see, one of my friends says, and we are apllying it in all the games, that if a figure runs, it can't get into contact with a foe figure while I think it can, because in the rule book says "Durent the Movement Phase a player may, if they can move far enough, move his figures into base-to-base contact...".

I think the key is the underline sentence, "if they can move far enough", is run considered a "move"?? or is it a different thing??

I hope you can clarify my doubt so we can apply the rule correctly!. Tnak you very much. Big Hugh.

We always try to run into contact. I think you should probably get a bonus for it.

Yeah I think you can run into contact and that's how my group play it.

Yes, you can run into contact and then fight in the same turn.

Remember though, if your enemy has not moved yet it can still attempt to disengage.

Timing is everything.   :D

I remember rules where you could attempt to leave (or, attempt, in some rules,) after someone moved into contact with you but you gave the opponent a free shot at you by doing so - Supersystem in 2nd edition IIRC and possibly Glorie (?) - which could be sometimes more dangerous than staying and fighting.

Gracias,

Glenn

I had only played Warhammer and Confrontation untill I discovered IHMN, so the rules are kind of different and I tend to interpret it like if I were playing Warhammer, so, forums like this, are  a great help for me, where people answer  you so quick, that clarify all doubts! So, again, thank you very much!!. Big hugh!!!
