Great War Gallipoli Battle Report
« on: August 08, 2008, 01:13:31 PM »
I blooded my GB Turks yesterday in a battle with my mate Mike Hobbs. He's done a battle report for it which I though may interest you.  :)

Smashing. I'm gearing up for a small bit of fun in the Dardanelles myself at the moment, though it won't be as impressive as yours.

Always nice to have something inspiring to look at to keep me painting.

10 out 10 for the battle report.  Excellent.

Great report - thanks!

What army lists did you use for the ANZACS and the Turks?

We used British 1918 lists with a few mods. No grenades for normal troops, only bombers (one platoon per company). There were a few new rules that we were using that will be in the next supplement but I'm not at liberty to give that info out atm.  ;)
It was a very good game considering it was our first using the armies at Gallipoli. I need to get painting up my second company so we can play test some of the other scenarios.

For those that are interested all the figures are Gripping Beast and the trenches, craters and trees are from Ironclad Miniatures.

Thanks.  I've got a few Turks and Anzacs painted up, so was considering using proxy lists for them as well.

I hope you don't mind others discussing our own list ideas--not all of us have access to the top secret info, yet we don't want to wait for the Gallipoli supplement to come out (who knows when) either. I posted a thread on TMP and will post one here as well to discuss some "home brew" ideas.

Hi,

I read on you blog that you base your figures on 2p coins… how does this translate in mm? And what are the size of your two figures bases?

This info would be helpfull to base my own figures!  :?
