[40K] Rogue Trader / 2nd edition Blood Axes Orks - New photos page 5 (29 Jan)

I will make this a general thread for my 2nd edition 40k orks, instead of just the tank.

Just painted this. I will add a tank commander when I have painted him. Painted with Tamiya enamel spray (Dark Yellow TS3) then GW Desert Yellow with increasing amounts of white added for the highlights. The Tank is a 1:48 Tamiya Marder III and in game will be used as a wartrukk with either heavy bolters or autocannons depending on how many points are free.

There will be an army to follow with mainly RT troopers with lots of 2nd edition models as well. This is the first model. I couldn't resist painting the tank before any of the foot troops after getting hooked on reading Da Great Queeg's excellent blog http://houseofqueeg.wordpress.com/.

The second picture is a bit more yellowish than it is in real life.

My fave camo schemes for Orks are 1-black/purple/yellow/white (camo scheme my old Skarboyz were painted in) and 2-bright red, with yellow and brown spots (my Kommandoz).

I figure Orks have eyes that see in different wavelengths. It looks ded sneaky to them.

I did think about adding blue or grey camo stripes but as this was the first tank I have painted I chickened out in the end.

There will also be a sizeable Bad Moon contingent to this army, so that may give the opportunity for some lurid camouflage schemes with bright blues and yellows...
