Shoggoth sculpt for rafm miniatures Updated
« on: August 10, 2014, 02:49:46 PM »
Hi Everyone  :)

Here is my Shoggoth sculpt for Rafm miniatures.

Diameter is just under 50mm and about 30 mm high

Still got to do some detail on the tentacles, but what do you think so far?

Thanks
George

Pretty cool. I like the entwined tentacles.

My .02 Lupins... Could use a 3rd tentacle, closer to edge of the beastie.

Maybe on that large bump to right of the smaller mouth in last pic?

Looks great!  Always room for more tentacles!  I think the main mouth seems a bit squarish.

I think she's spot on, bit of a looker!

Excellent work, I'll definitely be buying that

That's REALLY cool! I can see that being used in a lot of 'Thing' games to!

Needs more tentacles! Otherwise a great addition (or is it going to be a replacement?) to the old RAFM shoggoth.

Love it but someone really needs to make a massive Shoggoth! A real scale one!

Thanks for the feedback :)

I just realised that I sculpted him to small, so I have added to the sculpt to make him taller and bulkier.

He is now 30mm to the top of the head/mouth and about50mm to the top of the tentacle.

Does he look OK?   :)

Thanks
George

I like the smooth, drapery of wet flesh sort of look. A "proper" shoggoth is foamy looking IMO, but there's no shortage of amorphous monsters it could be great for.

I do have to agree with gary42 about the big topmost mouth looking too square though. It's a combo of the "jaws" being flat-fronted with the way it sticks up in a sharp, right angled way from the mass. Gives it a sort of "air conditioner cover" shape. Needs more curve and slope, like the mouth on the lower left of the mass in the top left pic in your last post.

History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

Thanks :)

I've still got to do the detail on the tentacles and I'll see what I can do to fix the large mouth :)
