I don't think you can get better than Supersystem. They are available in the UK from Old Glory, I presume Old Glory US also carries them.

Supersystem really is the ONLY way to go. I don' think there are any other generic supers rules out there, are there? Heroclix does not count. My gripe with SS is that it can turn into a slow slog-fest. Personally, I like the RPG Mutants & Masterminds.

I do think that buried in the threads here (or possibly somewhere else) there was mention of another set of super hero rules cant remember their name though. I did have a set but lost them when my PC Crashed (you will hear that numerous times as I remember what rules and files I have lost :'( over the next few weeks months and years)
