With Pyjamas through the desert - blog updates
« on: August 19, 2014, 08:49:39 AM »

Hi to all,

Just a quick post after a bit of a hiatus to say there are some new entries as well as an update to the status of the rules we have been working on for some time.

Cheers

Carlo

Sir, a most worthy effort which I will be keeping my eye on.  Based on certain rumors about Mr. Gilders sometimes volcanic temper (hopefully not too cataclysmic), I named the volcano in my pirate game Gilderakatoa.  Of course, even Mr. Featherstone acknowledged his debt to Jack Scruby so the islands were the Scrubyward Isles.  But I also had some hazardous and sharp pointed rocks knows as the Featherstones.  Homage is a good thing.

I like the PDF idea mentioned in the replies on your blog but may jump for the hard copy just to reward your efforts in restoring these 'legendary' rules.  Mr. Gilder owes me a lot since I've spent too much money getting a much too large collection of Sudan figures (even if they aren't much painted yet).  Oh, wait, don't I mean I owe him for the inspiration?!   lol

Thanks Gents,

Yes there is no doubt we are indebted to many of these characters of the bygone era of wargaming (at least we gamers of a certain vintage!).

Cheers and thanks for you kind comments Richard and Fifteens!

I think the rumours may be unfounded Peter was honorary President of the Grimsby club and was an absolute gentleman to us, generous and inspirational I don't think he gets the credit he deserves for his contribution to the hobby

His great Dane was a big beggar though!!
