It appears that Photobucket is holding me to ransom. If I don't pay $399.99 a year, all of my photographs will remain as those photobucket place holders.

I will not be held to ransom so I will be looking for an alternative host. In the meantime, I apologise for the fact that all of my images are gone... and are unlikely to reappear.

I had no warning... the hosting update that apparently happened on 28th June has obviously come into effect. I now know why I have been seeing the place holders on so many forums.

I sympathise Inso - I have a feeling that Photobucket may be going the way of Angelfire, Tripod and Geocities very soon... 

Either way, by right-clicking on the placeholders and selecting "view image", I can still see what you posted. Of course, I use a variety of heavy-duty ad-blockers on my browser, so it's not like the virulent assault of PB's advertising is earning them anything this way either.

Anyway, the start you made on your sniper Ogryn looks very promising. Is he going to have a Ghillie suit too?

Probably a smock with a hood... plain fatigues but with additional camo strapped on here and there.

Photobucket got me too. Please let us know what you find, as there's no way I'm giving them any money from here on out.

All I can suggest is to put a note on your threads about 'right click on placeholder, view image in new window'.

The only way to fix it is to pay.

I won't be doing that so it's a case of deciding how I am going to do things in the future...

I'd recommend a blog where you can post pictures and then link them here directly.  I changed over one of my threads a few weeks ago when Photobucket was acting poorly (close both my photobucket accounts earlier today, permanently).

I don't know what you use, but the Photobucket iPad app doesn't ask for payment!
