Bandage for Roads/Track

A friend of mine says his club use bandages to make roads and tracks for their terrain. The results are good as the bandage can be laid out to form curves and go over small hills, hollows etc. I've looked online but not found many examples.

Does anybody have experience of using this technique with some suggestions and example photos?
