I bought a couple of German artillery pieces from tiger minatures. I would like to use them as captured pieces for my ww1british in Mesopotamia/ African campaign. Does any know if anyone's does the crews on their own?

Would 8th Army (WW2) do?

Scarab miniatures do a generic crew in shirt sleeve.

HLBS do some British ones as well. Half are bare headed with rolled up sleeves.

Woodbine, via Gripping Beast, do exactly the figures you describe. I have a pack of these and they are very good.

Wish there were some bloody pictures!

Fram - There is a painted example at the top of the Woodbine/GB page in Paul Cs link - it is a bit small, but you can see it.

It is a crew and gun pack though, not just the crew

Our shirt sleeve guys are here http://scarabminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_18&products_id=388
we also sell the Woodbine/GB artillery set

Hope that helps.
Kind regards

Thanks guys, the gripping beast figures look great. former user I really like your scratched built artillery piece , have you got anymore photos of it? The Scarab miniature figures look perfect for stokes mortar crew for the African campaign . Once again thanks for all your help

I have, THX very much, but it is not scratchbuilt, it is kitbashed.
it is basically the carriage of a 1/35 QF 25pounder

where I replaced the wheels and the barrel, and added a few seats
the turntable and shield are missing too.
I am not yet very happy with it, I will probably add even more massive wheels and probably redo the barrel - this is actually the sole scratchbuild

the seats are also far too high above ground

Another shot, if it helps, of my 18pdr with Brit crew in shirtsleeves. Rather nicely done, the separate heads facilitate conversions. I'd go for those again in a heartbeat.

One thing, though - they are a bit on the slender side when compared to chunky fellows like Renegade, but look quite good next to Great War Miniatures. The rest of the Woodbine range is good, too, if not too "agitated" when it comes to poses. Perfectly suited for my taste, but some people may prefer more action.

The utility of heads for conversion is what got me interested. I can (barely) see the little pic (which joroas has kindly blown up for us all to see), but was hoping there'd be pics of all the different heads.
