Super pictures Phil! A great game I thought, though I may be a tad biased there owning to my cavalry's splendid (& very unusual) performance!

Thanks Phil for the post-play-test report.

Have you had to consider how many machine guns you both can have in a game?

Thank you.

All the best,

Helen

Hi Helen, good to see you back.

Don't know about the Brits, Dave will have to answer that, each MG base equals two guns so I have 3 bases in my 3 battalion German regiment. I only have one Jaeger battalion so I have just one MG base attached to it.

Thanks Phil for your reply. Okay, that sounds good.

Have stacks of painting to catch-up on for this period.

Look forward to additional reports.

All the best,

Helen

Really great!  :o :o :o
I really had the early WW1 of my screen and was only thinking about stormtroopers trenches and destroyed areas.

David

Thanks David for your reply and nice to read about the history behind this set of rules. Thank you again for your contribution to the hobby.

David, with regards to cyclists are they mounted on bases as infantry or cavalry? Ditto for when they are dismounted. Dixon provide some miniatures for both the Brits and Germans an a bicycle pack is available as well. I've the Brigade model Belge carabinier-cyclistes dismounted which I'll use alongside the Belge cavalry.

Additionally, an as your know doubt aware, the Belge have the Minierva armoured car an as we know they started the conflict with two tourers with a lewis gun mounted in one of them. I welcome your thoughts on this too. Not important at this stage, but would welcome comment.

All the best and thanks again,

Helen

Inspiring stuff - although I still shudder at the thought of painting more field grey  lol

Edit: this thread actually got me to test off my final handful of Germans from last year's nearly completed army challenge and base coat them!

Weren't British field guns and limbers painted in a grey colour scheme in the early days of the war, much like the German s and French?

All the ones I've ever seen are green so that will do for me. After all, as I've said to some before, these are only toys in a game. And one of about two dozen periods we play now and again, so it will do for us.
