I have to admit that I find the 'way things could have developed' somewhat more attractive than how they did. Maybe it is over-familiarity with WWII tanks gained across the years, but the thought of Vickers Mediums & Independents, Neubaufahrzeugs, T35/28s and the other odd designs of the '30s duking it out in some conflict has been a constant desire of mine for some time.

Definitely have to agree with you there. I suppose overexposure has made WWII and its war machines rather 'meh' in comparison to the interesting and oftentimes outlandish designs of the 1920s and 1930s.
