Also if a bit naif is a good representation of the Battle of Calatafimi..above all for the landscape..even the single building is correct...i can only make a criticism about the Neapolitan troops that were engaged in hand to hand fight..the Garibaldini charge lead by Bixio and , partially by Garibaldi, was countered by the  Cacciatori Light troops not by Line Infantry or maybe the supposed to be élite Carabinieri Reali in campaign dress as represented in the picture..
on the other hand , the mix of civilian type dress types  on the Garibaldini side is correct for Calatafimi...in one Neapolitan account of the battle...is related that the Bourbon troops were happy to see, at distance, the rebel sporting civilian type dress and they took them for Sicilian Picciotti who they considered totally useless at combat..they had feared to be confronted by true Garibaldini or, worst than that, the Cacciatori delle Alpi raised by Garibaldi for the 1859 Campaign vs Austrians...a nasty surprise was waiting for them among olive  groves   ;)....those troops call for exactly those Gringo irregular types appearing  in the last  post...

Ged, have you ever considered doing some independent heads in your ranges? Just looking at the pictures of the Picciotti, with a head swap some of them would look rather good as irregulars for the Maximillian range if they were given 'Mexican' heads and sombreros or that sort of thing. Or just sombreros/other headgear come to that.

Of course could always just buy those and some mexicans to get the relevant bodies and heads, and then saw/drill/pin/stick/greenstuff them, but just wondered whether it's ever been a thought? Or would the design/casting etc be too prohibitive for the prospective returns? (I have no real idea of the costs of these things!)  :D

Dinthedin thanks for the timely reminder......... :D

italwars your quite right Garibaldi was the master of deception
and the battle is one of the most fascinating of the period.... ;)

the Blackcrane  its a good idea in principal but I do like to try
and have figures which are being converted to look quite different
but for other eras your quite right..........been looking tonight at
Garbaldi range..i have a cunning plan :D!!!!!!!!!! 8)

I seem to have confused myself, never difficult.

Can anyone tell me the regimental numbers for the three re-organised Swiss/Bavarian regiments on Sicily in 1860?
