Man's best friend- steampunk style!
« on: September 14, 2014, 02:00:36 PM »
I saw this recently at Eureka miniatures and just had to have it.
Couldn't wait to get some paint on this brave fellow.

This brave bulldog saved the life of General Sir Garnet Wolseley during the Nile expedition biting the leg of a damnable mad dervisher which broke into the General's tent. The delay enabled Wolseley to put a bullet in the blighter but not before the mahdist had hacked off the brave bulldog's hind legs. Wolseley's aide de camp at the time Shaftsbury nursed the stricken canine back to help and with the help of some new steam technology our brave Bulldog resumed active duty.

Cheers
Fuzzy
Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

Cute!  :)

Love the story and the painting is ace.

I only saw one dog at the Asylum steampunk meet yesterday - dressed in black with the odd cog or two but no steam :(

There's also a rather big "Dwarven Clockwork Dog" available from Ral Partha Europe and possibly Iron Wind Metals, worth a look if you fancy another pet :)

I would really like to see Lord Garnet's chum chasing the clockwork cat from the Gurps Steampunk Miniatures set.  ;)

Design 28 had a steam/clockwork dog too.
In the "Lord Fecit Hunting Party" (I think)

I think Black Pyramid have them now.
