An Interesting Book From 1957 About Early Wargaming.

I just posted some images from Making and Collecting Military Miniatures, a book from 1957. If you're interested in the history of modern wargaming and miniature modeling you should check it out.

Bob Bard's book was an inspiration to moi when I first started this madness. He also had a monthly home grown magazine that I subscribed to for a few years. GREAT STUFF!

"Interest is added to the game by using figures in natural action poses. Marching figures are exchanged for those in fighting positions when troops move into action; dead and wounded figures replace those shot in action."

Nobody tells Games Workshop about this. Nobody! Right?

Just checked Amazon who appear to be selling a pirated copy of this book with a plain blue cover for $30.00 or so. Thanks for posting the cover picture, I shall keep my eyes open for a copy of the original version. It looks like a cracking little book.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

The Amazon seller "watermillbooksuk" has a copy if you can find a way of getting it from Amazon UK. I'm not sure how Amazon works overseas.
