Predator colours...
« on: August 20, 2008, 10:01:29 AM »
I've had a undercoated 'Hunter Alien' sitting on my painting desk for longer than i care to remember....

What colours should I use for its skin.... I seem to remember a dirty yellowish brown or greyish yellow(?) on other such minis - but I cannot remember the skin coulour from the Movie.... ?

HELP! I want to get my painting desk tidied up a bit - need to get some stuff painted  ;)

This any use to you?

There are painted examples of the Copplestone Hunter Aliens on his site, too.

Ugly mother...

Thanks!

Dirty grey, some brown, pale yellowish sand, and even some rotting flesh should get me somewhere near that...

Is that a pic of a collector's statue or something??

I knew the Copplestone painted examples, but I suspected them to be a bit too greenish.... well, Predators probably come in different shades, like humans...  ;)

Your mother look like that?! Life must have been very unkind to her. Mine has just gotten a little dumpier.

I used Vallejo 893 US Dark Green as the base colour and gradually lightened the mix with GW Bleached Bone

I like those - I may try with different shades, but my first one will be pale yellowish I think!

Hopefully helps on the first one you'll see some alternative head markings. Also I've got a load of UK garden spider references as their colours and tones and perfect for predators.

Enjoy

I would have thought that 'hunting spiders' were more appropriate than webbuilders  :D

Nice pics, I think I'll have a go soon - I'm just painting a Westwind rage Z and a Brigade Alien (those are a hoot to paint !), but then... (I think I'm going to make a Fantastic Worlds game with (Brigade) Aliens vs. Predator  ;)  lol )
